Walking around Cober Hill
With Cober Hill nestled on the edge of the heather-clad North York Moors National Park and the dramatic Yorkshire Heritage Coast, we are simply spoilt for choice of walks. In particular, the popular Cleveland Way National Trail passes within a stone’s throw of our own front door.
The walk can be picked up at various points along its 109 mile journey from Filey to Helmsley (or vice versa!) and with good bus connections walkers can use Cober Hill as their base and enjoy walking as little or much of the Cleveland Way as they wish.
If short walks are more suited to you then we have some excellent choices, including our popular circular walk incorporating the Cinder Track (old Scarborough to Whitby railway) and Cleveland Way, taking in the beautiful little waterfall that cascades on to the fossil-rich beach at Hayburn Wyke. Or maybe just take a meander through our many acres of grounds up to our top meadow with some of the most breath-taking sea views you could wish for.
Whether walkers come as a group, family, couple or individually, rest assured that Cober Hill gives the warmest of Yorkshire welcomes!
