There is ample private off road parking for all our guests. Two disabled car parking spaces are to be found outside the Reception main entrance.
There is an exterior ramp to the left hand side of the centered main entrance and access is available at all times.
We gladly offer assistance with luggage from guests’ car to their room.
If using the Joseph Rowntree Centre car park, guests will note that this is mainly a small stone chipping surface. However, access to both doors of this building are paved and easily negotiated.
Reception Area
All floors and corridors are carpeted throughout and are suitable for wheelchairs.
The Reception area is on one level and assistance can be offered in registering and locating your accommodation.
Public Areas
Ground floors in both Cober Hill and the adjacent Joseph Rowntree Centre are carpeted or tiled throughout and are most accessible for wheelchairs. All lounges, the conservatory and Joseph Rowntree Hall are ground floor rooms. Access to the Theatre is via the ramp and lower fire door to the rear of the building.
Toilets
The designated and spacious accessible toilets are unisex and located in both main buildings.
Other toilets are to be found on the ground floors but are of standard size and do not have direct wheelchair access.
Bedrooms
Cober Hill has rooms, located in both the Joseph Rowntree Centre and the Main House, that have been modified to maximise accessibility. They are specifically designed for wheelchair access, with many facilities provided to ease your stay. Our staff will be happy to provide additional details on request. A stair lift (accessed by 1 step) provides access to the first floor in the main house at Cober Hill.
Fire Alarms
Fire alarms in both buildings are a very loud audible bell or siren.
A continual sounding if the alarm indicates immediate, safe evacuation of the building. The alarm will be silenced only when absolute safety has been established.
Dining Rooms
The two dining rooms are to be found adjacent to the Reception desk. Access to both is through wide double doors to the spacious dining area.
